Conceived in 2009 and legalized in 2017, RADA took full effect in 2020 when our Founder, Ferdinant M. Sonyuy, took up full-time leadership as CEO/President. RADA was born out of the conviction that there was a need to do something about the enormous challenges we face in our community, and that we all could contribute to solving them, thereby adding value to ourselves and our country.
The name “RADA” – Reconciliation and Development Association – reflects our dual commitment to social cohesion and sustainable development, addressing both the roots and symptoms of community challenges.

Key moments that shaped RADA’s journey to impact
RADA was conceived out of a shared conviction that communities could come together to address their own challenges. The vision was born to create an organization focused on reconciliation and sustainable development.
RADA was officially legalized as a nonprofit organization in Cameroon, establishing the legal framework for our operations and partnerships.
Received first funding of $2,000 USD from UHC2030 to organize a panel discussion on Universal Health Coverage during UHC Day. The President was elected as Secretary General of the Cameroon NCD Alliance.
Ferdinant M. Sonyuy took up full-time leadership as CEO/President. RADA developed its first 3-year strategic plan, enlarged the Board of Directors, and created an Advisory Board of technical experts.
