Youth NCD Action Network

Empowering youth to lead the fight against non-communicable diseases through education, peer support, and community action.

Program Overview

It is an initiative for youths and NCDs, given the importance of this demography, where research, advocacy, and intervention efforts coupled with skills-building initiatives have been set in motion to help reduce the burden of NCDs among youths and to advance the participation of youths in the current and future NCD response initiatives in Cameroon. It is a membership-based program and leads RADA’s membership and participation in the World Heart Youth Federation, Young Professionals for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Network, and other youth-based initiatives. This program has reached over 1000 youths in Cameroon.

THREE MAIN OBJECTIVES FOR THE PROGRAM

  1. Research NCDs amongst the youthful population of Cameroon
  2. Raise awareness amongst youths on the risks, dangers, prevention, treatment, and control of NCDs in Cameroon.

  3. Advocate for policies to protect the youthful population from NCDs.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAM

The purpose of this program is to reduce the NCD burden amongst the youthful population while, creating awareness on its risks factors while advocating for strong policies to curb the burden of NCDs in Cameroon.

Generating vital data and advocating for strong, evidence-based policies to curb the burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) among Cameroonian youth.

Skills & Intervention

Building youth capacity through direct interventions and skills-building initiatives to reduce NCD risk factors and empower healthy futures

Global & Local Alliance

A membership-based hub connecting youths to a national forum and global networks .
