Our NCD Response:
RADA promotes, coordinates, supports and implements sound and appropriate technical cooperation activities to power the Cameroon NCD response, directed to the prevention and control of risk factors, Cardiovascular conditions, Diabetes type 1, Diabetes Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes, Chronic Respiratory Diseases, Cancers, disabilities, and mental, neurological and substance abuse disorders, access to essential medicines and care, across the life span and within the broader context of universal health coverage.
RADA currently has a Letter of Collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health Focused on NCDs and NTDs, and puts it asa key partner of government to acheive its strategic priorities in the national NCD prevention and control agenda. So far, RADA has worked with the Ministry of Health to develop the National NCD Policy Document, conducted consultations on it, ensuring multisectoral collaboration and developed a front-of-package warning labelling and legislation for the country.
RADA seeks to raise public and political awareness, prioritization and action on the burden of the most common NCDs, and related risk factors, especially among youths, and leads multi-sector and multi-stakeholder strategic and collaborative efforts aimed at strengthening the capacity of people living with NCDs, CSOs and stakeholders, to promote and protect health through effective policies, programs, and services all towards reducing the risk and burden of chronic NCDs and improving physical, mental, social and positive spiritual wellbeing of our communities, especially those of the vulnerable.
Our programs include NCD Prevention and Management awareness, Community components of care, and advocacy. We identify key challenges in the main healthcare platforms and develop strategies using RADA’s project development frameworks and focus.
