Program Overview
The sickle cell program is a research, education, and advocacy program that seeks to prevent the rise in the burden of sickle cell and promote the effective and expert management of the disease. It is also implemented by RADA through the Bonin Health Services. So far RADA was part of the commemoration of Sickle Cell Day at the Bamenda Regional Hospital in 2025.
THE MAIN OBJECTIVES FOR THE PROGRAM
- To research the burden of sickle cell in Cameroon.
- Educate the population particularly youths on the prevention of sickle cell.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAM
The purpose of this program is to carry out research and educate the population on the risks and burden of sickle cell disease.
Research & Prevention
Conducting vital research to understand and prevent the rising burden of sickle cell disease within the population
Community Education
Educating the public on disease risks, management, and prevention to empower communities and reduce stigma.
Management & Outreach
Promoting expert disease management through healthcare partnerships and advocacy, including active participation in awareness events like Sickle Cell Day.
