Peace Building and Conflict Resolution

Conflict Resolution & Peacebuilding Program for Sustainable Social Cohesion

Program Overview

This program aims to manage and resolve the ongoing conflicts in Cameroon through a coordinated, community-centered approach that combines mediation, capacity-building, and policy advocacy. Working at both local and national levels, the team conducts conflict analysis, identifies root causes, and engages traditional leaders, civil society, youth groups, and government actors to promote dialogue and trust-building. Practical interventions include training local mediators, facilitating inclusive community forums, implementing early-warning systems to detect tensions, and designing culturally sensitive reconciliation processes. The program also develops evidence-based recommendations for legislative and institutional reforms on peace and nation building. By promoting nonviolent dispute resolution, strengthening local capacities, and influencing policy, the program seeks sustainable peace, reduce violence, and strengthen social cohesion across Cameroon’s diverse regions.
