The international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking was first observed by the United Nation General Assembly in 1987.

This day is observed on the 26th of June annually to strengthen global action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free from drug abuse and illicit trafficking.

Drug abuse is the illegal use of drugs for purposes there are not meant to be used for or the consumption of drugs excessively away from the prescribed order. Examples of such drugs include Morphiine,  Cokaine, Paracetamol, alcohol and Tramadol etc.

Illicit trafficking is the cultivation, manufacturing, distribution and sale of substances which are   subjected to drug prohibition law. Illicit trafficking often come as a result of poverty, laziness, ignorance and greed.

Drug abuse can affect several aspects of a person’s physical, social, psychological health and job-related problems. Certain drugs can lead to drowsiness, slow breathing and insomnia, while others might cause paranoid behaviors or hallucinations and stress.

Some youths nowadays consume drugs such as #cocaine, #tramol #tobacco and #shisha so as to feel high and bold to do certain things for their personal interests. Unfortunately, the negative consequences are always far much more challenging than they would want to bear, including total life derailments and even death. If you consume drugs beyond prescribed order, you are inviting war #NCDs into your life which when you are diagnosed of a disorder, mostly chronic in nature, there is high probability for you to die with it terminally regardless of the reasons for consumption.

Join us to raise awareness about drug abuse, and help especially our younger generation and the next generation to stay away from drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
